Note to Self - If I ever record an album

If I ever record an album, it should just be tracks of music and songs — no spoken interludes, gags, themes or skits. Hopefully the music will be timeless, but I guarantee myself that anything else will get old fast.

Skits are stupid, agreed. However, sometimes a little talking before the recording begins, the background kind where you as the listener have to turn it up real loud to understand what’s being said is kinda cool. Led Zeppelin did that on a couple of songs, at the beginning or the end. It sorta makes the listener feel like they’re getting a peek into the past, into the musical processes that these giants forged through. The content of the speech is entirely insubstantial of course, but it brings the music a tiny bit closer to teh listener.

Yeah, agreed, sort of like a live album, but I would need to put out a few quality albums before I could do that. Led Zeppelin can easily get away with it.
